My father had always been a primary figure in my life. When he finally left his body in February of 1970 at the age of 89 I was deeply and emotionally involved in the event. At that time Swamiji had been an active part of my life; having first met him in March of 1969.
At the time of my father’s passing I was living in Avon Lake, Ohio, some 50 miles from my hometown of Wooster Ohio where my father resided. I had spent many days in Wooster before and following his death. Finally I was free to return home.
As I was making the solitary drive back to Avon Lake it was all I could do to remain conscious and upright in my seat so great was my exhaustion. Shortly before I reached my home it was if I was taken into the lap of the Divine Mother. I could feel her loving presence; comfort and restoring love. My heart was filled with joy. It may have been a split second in time, but it was a transforming experience. I found myself once again filled with energy and my grief had passed. I continued my drive home to return to my family and normal routine of life.
